If you look out on a landscape - shake it and give it some soul, personality and twist the truth out of it, add small red dots for where you have been – you suddenly have a brand new picture. If you at the same time add sweat as well as tears and a lot of energy it could, in fact, become a beautiful picture which you feel like putting into a frame.

The perfect photography is a mixture of many elements melted together. A great idea, the right lighting and an amazing technique. I strive to master all three. To immerse myself in a product shot, where my technical skills help to give the picture a wow-effect. Or to look at a face as if it was an unused canvas. The expression and the right mood. Endless possibilities. A good mix of contemplation and renewal. That is what creates the perfect picture.

A picture is a feeling of freedom and a wish for creating a space of truth. It always comes back to me and my quest to reconcile reality and illusion continues.

As I was raised in an environment of movie production, born into a world of media with a camera in my hand I highly weigh technical skills and the visual grains of gold in my work. I am always looking for the latest and I never forget the quality in the old craft of photography. A constant endeavour for being the best and the quickest, but always with a smile on my lips. The job as a photographer is my life and this is shown in my pictures.

I am a photographer who enjoys my work and that shines through in my pictures. I try to combine visions and ideas with inspiration of the past. I am always working with many different genres, but at the moment textiles take up a lot of my time. Main words for my work are: Visual progressiveness, thoughtfulness with edge and optimism.

I try to create something beautiful, a mood, an experience with my pictures – to draw people into my own little world – to circle around light, contrast, movement, shape and colour – to add a little element of adventure and mystery.
Stephane Maffait
Photography has always been a passion in my life. As a child I was drawn into a world of photography as I always helped my father in developing films and making black/white copies in the old darkroom in the basement. When I work, I attach great importance to composition and lighting - to create depth and mood in my pictures. It is for me an enormous satisfaction to work uncompromisingly and dedicated with a team toward a common goal.

A landscape, a photography is created by imagination, emotion and portraying of the intimate, the vulnerable human intuition is my engine it is chased and simplified into a visual space that each of us considers to be our very own.

The challenge is to seize the moment and make photography a breeze. I believe that the best pictures are shot in this kind of interaction. I try to make the aesthetic image with sight for sore eye, find interest in the story of the image, and I'm not afraid to take alternative routes. However, this is most applicable in the diverse expression of the digital world.

Stylist
As a stylist it is all about making a product looks as beautiful as possible. Every detail is carefully planned and nothing is left for itself. I strive for getting a great idea or a main thread throughout my pictures. It is also important that the picture has a good composition and harmony.
