Merrild in Motion Pictures15|12|10

news merrild motion picture

After long considerations we have engaged ourselves in the "Record / Mode" - technology with HD in our still cameras that gives motion pictures an incredibly high quality. We have already arranged the whole set-up of models, location, make-up artists, etc. So actually you only need to press the rec button and a small movie is recorded. Please check out this link and see for yourself or receive a showcase of all our latest productions - and have a live chat about motion pictures before the year runs out.

Salt Lake City07|09|10

salt_lake_city

When driving north up through Jutland, finally you arrive to the farthest town Skagen - a place that painters and artists love. The light is completely unbelievable here. The two oceans reflect the motives beautifully. The shadows are soft and everything is very inspirational. But there's more to the world than Skagen, so during a photo session with Bon'A Parte's fall collection we went to Salt Lake City. Here lies one of the world's biggest salt desert and Skagen came in short. 50 km of white desert, a shining sun from a cloudless sky, ice blue mountains in the background, which all provided an amazing light reflection, a pure revelation for a lens. Here's a small selction of Stéphane Maffait's images - a blue hour in Salt Lake City.

But now it is ready, and we hope you feel like turning a few pages. Here you find a company who is passionate and live to make its best within photography. Please enjoy!

The business of business is ….. not only business!09|04|10

news_zion

This paraphrase of Nobel laureate Milton Friedman’s statement on the purpose of doing business is the heading for the commitment which Merrild Photography strives in its activity.

On numerous photo trips around the world our photographers have seen communities and lifestyle which differs fundamentally from the daily life as we know in Herning and Aarhus. Especially, the meeting with a flock of orphaned / abandoned children in an orphanage outside of Mombasa in Kenya made a deep impression, and this gave the starting signal for our involvement with Calvary Zion Children's Home.

At this orphanage lives approx. 40 children, all have been abandoned or orphaned in the keel water of the civil war-like conditions in Kenya from late 2007 onwards. The home is led by Mrs. Jane W. Karigo who makes a tremendous effort to create a fairly comfortable life for these children. Merrild Photography primarily provides financial support for the project, including establishing of new and better premises for the children. Some of our clients are also involved in the project. LEGO has donated toys for children, and Bon’A Parte has sent clothes. Jane Karigo sends here her gratitude.

If you wish to learn more about the project, please visit the above url.

None of us can save the entire world - but we can make a targeted help when it is needful.

Let There Be Light03|03|10

news_og_der_blev_lys.jpg

Together with Lars Simonsen from the advertising agency Envision, we have travelled back in time and into the Bible to solve a task for the lightening company ‘Lysmesteren’. Our photographer Stéphane Maffait demonstrates his visual abilities to retell the Bible's best stories. The goal was not to provoke, but to show that lights from ‘Lysmesteren’ last through several eras. With that in mind, the result was no less than spectacular.

The images are processed by Green Lemon, locations are from different places in Denmark, and styling done by Kirsten Zaeschke – moreover, all the models are employees from the agency Envision.

Søren's White World 03|11|09

news_soerens_white_world

Bang & Olufsen have introduced an all white product line. To accentuate this the gallery of the spanish artist Eduard Micos was chosen as background for a line of photos for an international catalogue.

For several decades Micos has been working in a white universe and was therefore the perfect location for the new products from Bang & Olufsen which is emphasized by beautiful lighting in the gallery. Søren Krogh has been photographer on this assignment and contributed in capturing “The White World” in exactly these pictures.

Photographer Thora Knudsen 10|10|08

news_thora

After four and a half years of hard work Thora Knudsen passed her exams and can now write photographer on her card. With her final exam project ”Nordlys” Nora got straight a's for her strong aesthetic and meaningful photos – in which the exhibition at ”Bruuns Galleri” in Århus underlined. As seen from the pictures of her finishing project Thora combines some nordic moods with global visions. Thora insists on using substance, presence and awareness in her photos – and that looks promising for the future production.

Henceforward Thora will be a permanent member of photographers at Gunnar Merrild photography – look forward to it.
